Terms of Use
The rules of the platform — written to be read, not skimmed.
Last updated: August 8, 2026
1. The agreement
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and NUUN Digital LLC (“Redcapes”, “we”, “us”), the operator of the Redcapes platform: the Redcapes app, the Redcapes Partners app, and the website redcapes.ca (together, the “Platform”).
By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using the Platform, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
If you use the Platform as a service professional, additional partner terms and the approval requirements communicated to you during registration also apply; if they conflict with these Terms, the partner terms prevail for your work as a professional.
2. What Redcapes is (and is not)
Redcapes is a marketplace. We connect customers who need home and property services with independent, vetted service professionals, and we provide the technology for requesting, matching, scheduling, tracking, communicating, and paying.
The professionals on the Platform are independent contractors. They are not our employees, agents, or joint venturers, and we do not ourselves perform the services they deliver. When you book, a service contract for the work is formed between you and the professional; Redcapes facilitates that contract and the payment for it. We apply a vetting and approval process to professionals and require ratings after every job, but we do not supervise the work itself.
Nothing in this section limits the consumer protections that mandatorily apply to you by law, or any responsibility that the law does not allow us to exclude.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract.
- Account information must be accurate and kept up to date. Your phone number is verified by one-time code; keep your credentials and device secure — activity on your account is your responsibility until you tell us it has been compromised.
- You may browse parts of the Platform as a guest, but bookings require an account.
- One account per person; accounts are personal and may not be transferred.
4. Bookings, pricing, and quotes
- How booking works. You describe the work, choose a time (as soon as possible or scheduled), and confirm. Your request is offered to vetted professionals nearby; when one accepts, you are matched and can track and message them in the app.
- Pricing models. Depending on your region and the service, prices are presented as a platform quote, a fixed price, or bids submitted by professionals for your request. The pricing model and amounts that apply are shown to you in the app before you confirm.
- Estimates. Where a price is expressed as an estimate or range, the final amount reflects the confirmed work. Any change to the price you approved — including additional work discovered on site (“add-ons”) or a proposed price adjustment — requires your approval in the app before it is charged.
- Accuracy of your request. Provide honest, complete descriptions and photos. Wrong or incomplete information can change the price or make the job impossible to complete as booked.
- Availability. Matching depends on professional availability in your area; we do not guarantee that every request will be accepted or completed within a particular time.
5. Payments
- Payments are processed by licensed third-party payment providers. By booking, you authorise the applicable charge to your selected payment method.
- Depending on your market, your payment method may be authorised or charged when a professional accepts your booking, with final settlement when the work is completed; the timing that applies is reflected in the app. Approved add-ons adjust the final amount.
- Prices are shown in the currency of your market and may include or be subject to applicable taxes and platform or service fees, as shown at checkout. You receive an itemised receipt/invoice after completion.
- Promotional codes and credits have no cash value, may carry conditions, and can be withdrawn if misused.
- Pay through the Platform. Off-platform payment for booked work deprives you of receipts, dispute support, and platform protections, and is a breach of these Terms.
6. Cancellations, changes, and issues
- Before a professional accepts, you can cancel a request free of charge.
- After acceptance, a cancellation fee may apply — for example to compensate a professional already travelling. Any applicable fee is shown in the app.
- Professional cancellations. If a professional cancels or does not show, we will re-match your request or you may cancel without a fee.
- Problems with the work. Raise issues promptly in the app — ideally while the job is in progress — so our support team can investigate with full context. Where a charge was made in error, or work was not delivered as booked, we may issue an adjustment or refund consistent with our investigation and applicable consumer law.
- Nothing in this section reduces refund or remedy rights that consumer law in your country mandatorily gives you.
7. Your conduct
When using the Platform you agree that you will not:
- break any applicable law, or ask a professional to perform unlawful, unsafe, or unpermitted work;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against, or abuse professionals, customers, or our staff — in person, in chat, or in reviews;
- provide false information, impersonate others, or create accounts by automated means;
- solicit or accept off-platform dealing to circumvent the Platform’s booking or fees for work sourced through it;
- interfere with the Platform’s operation, probe or test its security, scrape it, or reverse-engineer it except where the law permits; or
- use the Platform to build or support a competing service.
Professionals are expected to treat your home and property with care and respect; the same courtesy is expected from customers towards professionals.
8. Your content, ratings, and reviews
- You keep ownership of the content you submit (such as request descriptions, photos, messages, and reviews). You grant Redcapes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, use, and display that content as needed to operate, support, secure, and improve the Platform.
- Ratings and reviews must reflect your honest experience. We may moderate, withhold, or remove content that is unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or unrelated to the service experience.
- Do not submit content that infringes someone else’s rights or reveals another person’s personal information without permission.
9. Service professionals
Professionals join through the Redcapes Partners app, submit verification documents, and are approved per specialty before they can accept jobs. They are rated by customers after every job and must maintain the standards of the Platform to remain on it. Professionals are responsible for holding the licences, qualifications, and insurance required for their trade in their jurisdiction and for complying with applicable law, including tax obligations.
10. Intellectual property
The Platform — including the Redcapes name, the cape-and-R marks, the wordmark, app and website designs, and all software and content we created — belongs to NUUN Digital LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps and website for their intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
11. Third-party services
The Platform relies on third-party services such as payment providers, app stores, mapping, and messaging services. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. App-store terms (Apple App Store, Google Play) apply to your download and use of the apps.
12. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep the Platform reliable, accurate, and safe, but to the maximum extent permitted by law the Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. While we vet and approve professionals and operate a ratings system, we do not warrant the outcome of any specific job performed by an independent professional.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions; where that is the case, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) Redcapes is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill; and (b) our total aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Platform is limited to the amounts you paid through the Platform for the booking giving rise to the claim or, where no booking is involved, one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD 100).
What this does not limit. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence (including in the European Union, Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and Oman). Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Redcapes against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or your violation of law or of someone else’s rights — except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and disputes are subject to the courts of Alberta, Canada — except that if you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law grants you the protection of local mandatory rules or access to your local courts (for example in the European Union, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, or Oman), you keep that protection and may bring or defend proceedings in your local courts.
Before formal proceedings, contact us — most issues are resolved quickly through in-app support. Where the law permits, claims must be brought within the shortest period allowed by applicable law after the events giving rise to them, and each party bears its own costs except as a court orders otherwise.
16. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time in the app.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts, or decline or cancel bookings, where these Terms are breached, where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or safety risk, or where the law requires it. Where fair and practicable, we will give notice and a reason.
- Sections that by their nature should survive (including 8, 10, and 12–15) survive termination.
17. General terms
- Changes. We may update these Terms as the Platform and the law evolve. We will post updates here with a new “Last updated” date and give additional notice of material changes in the app. Continued use after the effective date means the updated Terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the Platform.
- Force majeure. Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect, and the provision is enforced to the maximum extent permitted.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them as part of a corporate transaction, with notice.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any additional terms presented in the app for a specific feature or market form the entire agreement between you and Redcapes about the Platform.
